Homeschoolers Very Welcome!
Wombat Hill Studio is a proud supporter of homeschoolers and their families. I offer a homeschooler discount for lesson times during the day.
Whether you'd like to play some favourite songs for your friends, just learn for yourself, or work your way through the exams, there's no pressure, just a friendly and welcoming environment, and a teacher who listens to you and guides you towards achieving your goals.
Versatility and Resourcefulness
At Wombat Hill Studio teaching materials are drawn from a wide range of resources. While being guided by the Comprehensive syllabus of the AMEB, I also introduce students to the basics of reading chords and lead sheets. The most well-rounded pianists can play a classical piece exactly as it's written, but are also not frightened to join in with some friends jamming on their guitars, or to play from the most basic lead sheet.
To allow this broad approach to learning piano, I use Supersonics, Tomplay, as well as a selection of brilliant books such as Elissa Milne's 'Getting To' series and Christopher Norton's many fabulous works.
Wombat Hill Studio also utilises a wide range of unique in-house puzzles and compositions, designed and created especially for young students of the studio.
